Indian Head Massage Certification

Indian Head MassageIndian Head Massage Training (IHM) has been practiced in India for thousands of years and was originally used as a technique to keep long, thick hair in healthy condition. At that time, it only involved massage of the head and hair. However, the modern Indian Head Massage includes unique techniques applied to the upper back, shoulders, neck, upper arms, face, head and scalp. IHM has been practiced in the UK, Europe and Canada at Aromatica since the 1990’s utilizing the best elements of head and body massage. This therapy is particularly beneficial to people who are desk bound and experience pain and tension in the upper body.

Indian head massage training – an ancient therapy used to relieve stress, helps the body to work in a more harmonious way. Indian head massage has been practiced in India for over a 1,000 years. This course is a combination of both western and eastern techniques and will enable qualified therapists to offer an extremely effective and safe treatment for their clients. The benefits of Indian Head Massage include helping to tone muscles, relieve eyestrain and headaches, improve concentration and boost the immune system.

Techniques taught include the shoulders, arm, head and face and can be performed on a massage table or through the clothes on a chair, taken into the office, health fairs, schools, etc.

Champi
Champi – or head massage – has been practiced for over a thousand years in India as a tradition of family grooming.

This type of massage was originally practised in the home by women and other family members who used different oils to keep their hair strong, lustrous and in beautiful condition. The British word “shampoo” originated from the Hindi word Champi.
