Myomassology
Myomassology is a holistic form of bodywork that integrates therapeutic massage with energy awareness, body alignment, and functional movement. Often described as the holistic version of massage, it focuses on the body as an interconnected whole rather than isolated muscles. Techniques such as Contraction Release Therapy (CRT) are used to identify and release chronic tension patterns at their source, supporting improved posture, reduced pain, and restored balance. Myomassology emphasizes listening to the body, encouraging natural healing processes, and creating long-term change rather than temporary relief.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is a classic therapeutic massage technique designed to relax the body, improve circulation, and ease muscular tension. Using long, flowing strokes, kneading, rhythmic movements, and gentle joint mobilization, Swedish massage promotes deep relaxation while supporting overall physical well-being. It is commonly used to reduce stress, relieve muscle soreness, enhance flexibility, and support the nervous system, making it both a restorative and therapeutic treatment suitable for a wide range of clients.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a holistic therapy based on the principle that specific points on the feet, hands, and ears correspond to organs, glands, and systems throughout the body. By applying targeted pressure to these reflex points, reflexology encourages balance within the body, supports circulation, and stimulates the body’s natural healing response. This deeply relaxing therapy is often used to reduce stress, promote overall wellness, and support the functioning of internal systems while restoring harmony between body, mind, and spirit.

Aromatica’s Reflexology Certification Training Program is approved by the Reflexology Association of Canada (RAC).

Upon successful completion, graduates may apply to RAC for the R.C.R.T designation (Registered Canadian Reflexology Therapist) which is recognized by major American and Canadian insurance companies that include reflexology in their employee extended health care benefit plans for client-based reimbursement.

Our reflexology training program provides an excellent introduction to bodywork and gives students a good grounding on using reflex points located on the feet to help balance various glands, organs and parts of the body.

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage is a deeply relaxing therapy rooted in traditional Ayurvedic practices that focuses on the head, neck, shoulders, upper back, and face. Using rhythmic movements, gentle pressure, and flowing massage techniques, it helps release tension, calm the nervous system, and improve circulation to the scalp and upper body. Indian Head Massage is known for relieving stress, headaches, jaw tension, and mental fatigue while promoting clarity, relaxation, and a sense of overall well-being.

River Rock Massage

River rock massage is a grounding therapeutic treatment that uses smooth, naturally warmed stones to relax muscles, improve circulation, and promote deep relaxation. The heat from the stones penetrates into the tissues, helping to release chronic tension, ease stiffness, and calm the nervous system. Stones may be placed on specific areas of the body or used as massage tools, allowing for deeper work with less pressure. This deeply soothing therapy encourages balance, stress relief, and a sense of connection to the body, making it both restorative and nurturing.

Full Body Paraffin Therapy

Full body paraffin therapy is a deeply warming and soothing treatment that uses melted paraffin wax to gently envelop the body, helping to relax muscles, ease joint stiffness, and improve circulation. The heat from the paraffin penetrates deeply into the tissues, promoting relaxation while softening and hydrating the skin. This therapy is especially beneficial for relieving chronic pain, arthritis, and muscular tension, while also calming the nervous system. Full body paraffin therapy provides a cocoon-like experience that encourages deep relaxation, comfort, and overall well-being.

Contraction Release Therapy (CRT)

Contraction Release Therapy (CRT) is a specialized hands-on technique used by Myomassologists to identify and release chronic muscular tension at its source. Rather than forcing muscles to relax, CRT works by gently engaging specific muscle groups, allowing the body to recognize and release long-held contraction patterns naturally. This precise, responsive approach supports improved posture, reduced pain, and restored functional movement. CRT is especially effective for addressing persistent tension, postural imbalances, and stress-related muscular holding, promoting lasting relief and balance throughout the body.

CRT is now a respected Trademarked and Copyrighted term in the massage field. Clients with chronic back, neck and shoulder pain usually have one leg shorter than the other. This condition is called ‘Apparent Short Leg Syndrome’ because the bones of the two legs are not of different length, the short leg is caused by tight gluteal muscles of the hip on the short side which pull and cause the thigh into a higher plane when compared with the other leg. It is not the leg bones that cause the leg length discrepancy, therefore, but tight, tense, contracted hip muscles.

Chinese Fire Cupping

Chinese fire cupping is a traditional therapeutic technique that uses heat to create suction inside glass cups placed on the skin. This suction gently lifts the tissues, helping to release muscular tension, improve circulation, and encourage the movement of stagnant energy and fluids. Fire cupping is commonly used to relieve tight muscles, reduce pain, and support detoxification by increasing blood flow to targeted areas. The therapy is deeply effective yet relaxing, promoting a sense of openness, relief, and restored balance within the body.

Tui Na

Tui Na is a traditional Chinese therapeutic bodywork technique that uses rhythmic compression, stretching, and targeted pressure along muscles, joints, and energy pathways. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tui Na works to balance the flow of energy (Qi) while addressing muscular tension, joint restrictions, and structural imbalances. This dynamic therapy may incorporate rolling, kneading, grasping, and mobilization techniques to support circulation, reduce pain, and improve mobility. Tui Na is both therapeutic and invigorating, promoting harmony, flexibility, and overall physical balance.

Chair Massage

Chair massage is a convenient, fully clothed therapeutic massage performed in a specially designed ergonomic chair. Focusing on the neck, shoulders, back, arms, and hands, it uses a combination of compressions, kneading, and gentle stretching to relieve tension and reduce stress. Chair massage is ideal for workplaces, events, and wellness settings, offering effective relaxation and muscle relief in a short period of time. This accessible therapy promotes improved circulation, mental clarity, and a sense of immediate well-being without the need for oils or a massage table.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massage is a gentle, nurturing therapy specifically designed to support the changing body during pregnancy. Using safe positioning and specialized techniques, it helps relieve common discomforts such as lower back pain, hip tension, leg cramps, and swelling while promoting relaxation and circulation. Pregnancy massage also supports the nervous system, helping to reduce stress and encourage emotional well-being. This therapeutic approach provides comfort, grounding, and relief, supporting both mother and baby throughout each stage of pregnancy.

Introduction to Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on treatment that works with the subtle rhythms of the craniosacral system — the membranes and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Using light touch, the practitioner helps release restrictions and tension within the body, supporting the nervous system and encouraging the body’s natural self-healing processes. This deeply calming therapy is often used to reduce stress, relieve chronic pain, ease headaches, and improve overall balance and well-being. Craniosacral therapy promotes a profound sense of relaxation while supporting both physical and emotional harmony.

Aromatherapy Blending

Aromatherapy blending is the art and science of combining essential oils to create synergistic blends that support physical, emotional, and energetic well-being. By carefully selecting oils based on their therapeutic properties, aroma profiles, and energetic qualities, a practitioner creates balanced blends that are both effective and pleasant to the senses. Aromatherapy blending considers top, middle, and base notes, as well as individual needs and intentions, resulting in customized oils used for massage, inhalation, or personal wellness. This mindful process enhances the healing experience and supports harmony of body, mind, and spirit.
